DIM is a dietary indole found in cruciferous vegetables. DIM helps to restore oestrogen balance during pre-menopause. DIM promotes its own metabolism in men. When DIM increases its own metabolism, it causes a more active and beneficial metabolism of oestrogen. This more active metabolism of oestrogen, also allows the conversion of 2-hydroxy metabolites. These metabolites allow for greater testosterone activity, and it allows for reduced stimulation of the prostate gland for oestrogen and testosterone. This metabolic shift from DIM supplementation allows for the testosterone to oestrogen levels in the body, to be at the levels of people who are much younger. Suggested Use: Take 2 capsules daily.
DIM stimulates more efficient oestrogen metabolism. Supplementing the diet with DIM and eating cruciferous vegetables increases the specific aerobic metabolism for oestrogen, multiplmaroon squareying the chance for oestrogen to be broken down into its beneficial, or "good" estrogen metabolites. These "good" oestrogen metabolites are known as the 2-hydroxy oestrogen’s. Many of the benefits that are attributed to oestrogen, which include its ability to protect the heart and brain with its antioxidant activity, are now known to come from these "good" metabolites.
DIM (diindolylmethane), a phytonutrient found in broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts. Unlike other phytonutrients such as soy isoflavones, DIM has no hormonal properties in itself. Studies show it works indirectly by changing the way oestrogen is metabolised, from the ‘bad’ pathway to the ‘good’ pathway. Consequently, DIM may play a role in the way the body copes with oestrogen’s. Dosage varies depending upon desired results.
DIM helps to eliminate active oestrogen from the male body by promoting its conversion into the "good" metabolites. These metabolites then free up testosterone by bumping it off the testosterone-binding proteins. The end result is a healthier balance of testosterone to oestrogen and more free testosterone circulating in the body. In scientific studies, high levels of testosterone and low levels of oestrogen have been linked to lean body mass, an efficient fat-burning metabolism, and low abdominal obesity. Other benefits from testosterone are improved mood, more interest in sex, and better physical conditioning.
Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a powerful phytochemical, which can support the metabolic clearing process of the liver.
A healthy oestrogen metabolite ratio has been associated with maintaining healthy breast cell function. In addition, another randomized placebo–controlled crossover trial including 33 pre–menopausal women found that supplementing with DIM 200mg® for 3 months promoted statistically significant breast comfort. Furthermore, an additional double blind randomized clinical trial with 52 women found that DIM 200mg® supported cervical cell health. Animal and cell studies have also indicated that diindolylmethane enhances prostate cell health by supporting healthy gene expression and testosterone receptor function. Diindolylmethane in its pure form is highly insoluble. Patented, microencapsulated DIM 200mg® has been specially developed for enhanced absorption. This form may be more supportive than I3C in cases of low gastric acidity.
